Brooch with bow motief
1940 - 1950
The movement towards naturalism in jewellery design of the late 1940s is well exemplified by the animal brooches. Flower brooches assumed the exotic shapes of orchids as well as the more familiar forms of daisies, roses, anemones and the like, often arranged in familiar forms of daisies, roses, anemones and the like, often arranged in informal bouquets made of variously coloured gold ties with gem-set ribbons.
