Star brooch
1863 - 1906
In the second half of the nineteenth century stars were a favourite and so common motif for both simple and very costly jewels. This one was very versatile as it could be worn as a brooch or as a pendant. The fascination with the starry sky was partly the result of a renewed interest in astrology, science and nature.
