Gilt leather wallcovering
1748 - 1775
This wallcovering comes from the former Ter Beken in Drongen castle which in 1516 belonged to the lord of Drongen, Gillis van der Beken. In 1748 the castle was demolished and rebuilt by Karel-Willem, Count d'Allegambe, Marquis of Auwerghem, who probably also ordered this wallcovering. The castle now houses the St Paul's seminary.
