Verschuylen, Jan Pieter Antoon

Antwerp silversmith. Born in Antwerp on the 12th of February 1801 as the son of Joseph Théodore and of Anna Cornelia de Locht. Served his apprenticeship with Charles Aulit (1774-1855) and Joseph Lecocqmartin (1772-1850). In 1825 he took a course in drawing from live models at the Antwerp academy. From 1821 - he still lived with his parents - he paid for the first time patent taxes. In 1835 he married Regine Monteyremar (1805-1847). Verschuylen died on the 23rd of August 1865.
