Willaert, Franciscus Josephus I

Antwerp silversmith. Born in 1751 as the son of Balthasar Willaert. Became a master before 1777. Married in 1777 Anna Maria Mertens, daughter of silversmith Joannes Ludovicus Mertens en remarried in 1792 to Maria Theresia Asselberghs, sister of goldsmith Jan Baptist Asselberghs. Active till 1808 and died in 1813. His sons, Franciscus (° 1778), Joseph Balthasar (° 1781) and Maximiliaan Willaert (° 1784) also were goldsmiths and silversmiths.
