Cuff links first appeared at the beginning of the seventeenth century and are classics of men’s jewelry. Sometimes these links were very richly decorated with precious stones or with chased or embossed work. This octagonal one was finished with a simple drawing of a man on a horse wearing a hat. It dates from the second half of the twentieth century when the use of cuff links had already begun to drop off quite dramatically.
