Part of a flower brooch
1850 - 1850
The central flower is set en tremblant, i.e. it is mounted on a tiny spring so that the flower moves when the wearer moves, rather like the movement of a real flower in the wind. In this way the precious stones glitter and shimmer as they catch the light. This accessory is now incomplete, but it was probably part of a brooch, crown or diadem.
