Parure ‘La Dame aux Camelias’

The designer drew inspiration for this piece from the opera La Dame aux Camélias (The Lady of the Camellias) based on the novel by the French writer Alexander Dumas. It tells of the young Armand who falls in love with the young courtesan Marguerite. The jewel represents Marguerite at the moment when Armand declares his feelings for her and she is struck by the arrow of true love. Another jewel belongs with this parure: a ring representing Armand with a bouquet of flowers.
