Exclusive preview of DIVA's Brilliant Story in Shanghai, China, from February 8th to April 7th 2018.

DIVA is delighted to have the opportunity to present her Brilliant Story in the Natural History Museum in Shanghai. Between February 8th and April 7th 2018 visitors will be given a sneak preview of the dazzling world of Antwerp’s brand-new DIVA museum.

What is there to see?

Visitors to the exhibition will be given an introduction to DIVA. Who is that dazzling new star in distant Antwerp and, most importantly, why does she shine so brightly? A number of recent photographs of Antwerp will help visitors contextualize the new museum.

The highlight of the exhibition will undoubtedly be the area where a number of objects from DIVA’s collection are on display. Exhibits including the owl cup, the rococo snuffbox, the peacock brooch and the little crown with wings will be transported to China and put on temporary show in the Shanghai Natural History Museum, not in a classic presentation, but with a replica of DIVA’s  trading room

And that’s not all. Three works by the Flemish artist Willy De Sauter and a sculpture by Jan Dries will be shown in a contemporary section. The sculpture derives from the Province of Antwerp’s collection and De Sauter’s paintings are on loan from the Ronny Van de Velde Gallerie in Antwerp.

Furthermore, 'Frozen Morning Light' by silversmiths Thalen & Thalen will be transported direct from DIVA to Shanghai, where the showpiece set with 300 diamonds will also be on display to the general public for two months.
